Good Friends

“Truly, great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.” – Author unknown

I find it fascinating how friendships work. It’s such a cool concept though. We, as people, are wired to be around other people. We care for others, rely on others, help others, give to others, love others, share with others, sacrifice for others, expect others to sacrifice for us, have fun with others, enjoy being in community, tell our deepest darkest secrets to one another, the list could go on and on.

The dictionary defines “friend” as: a person you know well and regard with affection and trust.

I find that last word to be so powerful. It takes a certain level of trust to consider someone a friend. It’s crazy to think how many people we consider to be “our friends” or even more so, how many people we trust. Who would you consider to be a person that you trust? Who would be the person you trust the most? Who do you consider to be your best friend?
